Social Security Disability Benefits

In Montana, the Disability Determination Services (DDS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) administer the Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income programs. They use medical and vocational criteria to determine if you are eligible for benefits. To be eligible for SSDI, a physical or mental disability must prevent you from working. It may be possible to receive both SSDI and SSI. SSI is need-based and requires additional eligibility. The DDS office will evaluate your medical records, the type of work you did previous to your disability and other items to make a determination. Many SSDI claims are denied initially and require appeal. Our senior attorney, David McLean, provides comprehensive and vigorous representation to people who have been denied benefits.

Veterans' Benefits

David McLean is a former state commander of the American Legion. He has more than 40 years of experience handling various areas of veterans' care. The amount of veterans' benefits you will receive depends largely on the percentage of your disability. Our firm seeks to understand your disability — whether that involves permanent back injury, hearing loss or PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) — and the benefits that can help you.
